Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026 · Supersedes all prior versions (previous update May 8, 2025)

Note for the site owner (delete before publishing): Tailored draft, not legal advice. Have a licensed attorney review before publishing — especially the data-rights, retention, AI-processing, and sensitive-data sections, and whether you must comply with GDPR (EU/UK visitors) or specific U.S. state laws. Anything highlighted is a value to confirm.

This Privacy Policy explains how Shift Up LLC (“Shift Up,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, the Shift UP Breakthrough application (the “App”), and our related coaching, courses, events, and services (together, the “Services”). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service.

By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

About the personal reflections you create

The App invites you to write about beliefs, memories, and feelings that may be deeply personal. We treat this content with care, store it to provide the Services to you, and never sell it. You choose what to share, and you can delete your content and account at any time (see Your rights & choices). Shift Up is a personal-growth tool, not a healthcare provider, and this content is not a medical record.

1Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account & contact details: your name, email address, and (if you provide them) phone number and mailing address. We may use passwordless “magic link” sign-in, which uses your email address to send a one-time login link.
  • Payment information: when you subscribe or purchase, payment is handled by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive limited details such as confirmation of payment and subscription status.
  • Your App content: the responses, beliefs, reflections, action steps, notes, and related entries you create in the App. Because this can include sensitive personal reflections, we handle it as described in this Policy and store it to provide the Services to you.
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g., support requests) and your preferences.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage & device data: basic technical information such as approximate location (from IP), device and browser type, pages viewed, and interactions, used to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
  • Local storage: the App stores your progress on your device so it works reliably and offline, and syncs it to your account.

2How we use information

  • To provide, personalize, and operate the Services — including saving your breakthroughs and progress, generating your summaries, and syncing across your devices.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions and access levels, and prevent fraud.
  • To send you account, transactional, and service messages (such as sign-in links and receipts).
  • To provide support and respond to your requests.
  • To secure, maintain, analyze, and improve the Services.
  • To send marketing or educational messages where permitted — you can opt out at any time.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

3AI processing of your content

To generate your breakthrough summary, titles, and suggested next steps, portions of the responses you enter are sent to a third-party artificial-intelligence provider (currently Google, via its Gemini API) for processing. This processing happens only to provide these features to you. We do not permit the provider to use your content to train its models, and we do not sell your content. AI output may be inaccurate and is provided for your reflection only (see our Terms).

Keeping your root memory private. When a session asks about the memory behind a belief, you can choose to keep it private. If you do, your actual words are never sent to our servers or to the AI provider — the App keeps only a neutral placeholder in their place, so your summary can still be created without that reflection ever leaving your device.

4How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Services:

WhoWhy
Payment processor (Stripe)Process payments and manage subscriptions
Customer / CRM platform (HighLevel)Manage accounts, contacts, access levels, and communications
Hosting & infrastructure (Cloudflare)Serve and store the App and its data

We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and security of Shift Up and others, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice as required). These providers act as our service providers under contract and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

5Cookies & analytics

We use a limited amount of cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate the App. For usage measurement we use privacy-respecting analytics that (confirm vendor, e.g., Cloudflare Web Analytics) does not use tracking cookies or build advertising profiles. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect how the Services work.

6Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, then for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal content within a reasonable time, except where we must retain certain records by law. Confirm your specific retention periods with your attorney/accountant.

7Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest for stored account data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a secure, private email account, since access to your email can grant access to your Shift Up account.

8Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access & portability — request a copy of the information we hold about you. The App also lets you download any breakthrough record as a keepsake PDF, and you can request a full export of your account data by email.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — delete your content and account. You can do this in the App or by contacting us.
  • Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (this does not affect essential account messages).
  • Non-sale — we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any right, email us at [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. If you serve EU/UK users, add a GDPR legal-bases section and your data-protection contact; if you serve California users, confirm CCPA/CPRA-specific disclosures.

9Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

The Services may link to third-party sites or services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them; please review their privacy policies.

12Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
